We are proud to announce that The Judy Weston Garden at Watchung Park has been awarded a grant for a series of “walk audits” by AARP! The funding is part of the AARP Community Challenge, a grant program to make tangible improvements in communities that jump-start long-term change.

We will survey an area encompassing Watchung Park and including access routes from Watchung Park to Edgemont Park House, home to Senior Services/Lifelong Montclair programming. These audits will assess pedestrian safety for all residents, especially those aged 50 and older, conducted by intergenerational teams of volunteers and partnering groups. 

Audits are scheduled to take place on September 24th from 4:30-6:00pm and October 18th from 9:30-11:00am.
