We are proud to announce that The Judy Weston Garden at Watchung Park has been awarded a grant for a series of “walk audits” by AARP! The funding is part of the AARP Community Challenge, a grant program to make tangible improvements in communities that jump-start long-term change.

We will survey an area encompassing Watchung Park and including access routes from Watchung Park to Edgemont Park House, home to Senior Services/Lifelong Montclair programming. These audits will assess pedestrian safety for all residents, especially those aged 50 and older, conducted by intergenerational teams of volunteers and partnering groups. 

The first audit is scheduled to take place in August. Subsequent audits will take place in September and October. Find out more information and register to get involved here!
